Edwin Luther Veal

Mr. Edwin Luther Veal, age 89, of Linton Road, Sandersville, died Tuesday, August 9, 2016. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 12, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with burial in the Church Cemetery. Russell Brown will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Chris Brown, Tony Brown, Tim Brown, Pat Brown, Clayton Sheppard, G.L. Frazier, Thomas Frazier, and Luke Frazier. Honorary pallbearers will be the AICC retiree club.

Mr. Veal was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late Luther Veal and the late Mattie Hood Veal. He was a retired shift supervisor for American Industrial Clay Company and also a member of the AICC retiree club. Mr. Veal was an active member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where he served as chairman of deacons. He enjoyed being a part of the morning and afternoon coffee clubs. Mr. Veal is predeceased by his wife Palma Frazier Veal.

Survivors include: his daughters, Sheryl Veal and her husband Larry and Peggy Veal all of Sandersville; grandsons, Shaun Veal of Sandersville and Trey Veal of Atlanta; sister, Edwina Veal Frazier of Sparta.

The family will be at the residence of Sheryl and Larry Veal on Linton Road and will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home.

The family suggest donations be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Mark Allen, 2947 Pleasant Grove Road, Sandersville, GA. 31082.
