Eleen Smith

Mrs. Eleen S. Smith, age 98, of 134 Red Hill Drive in Harrison died Saturday November 14 at her residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday November 17 in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with burial in the New Family Cemetery near Harrison.

Mrs. Smith was a native and life long resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Esra Moses Smith and the late Euna Harrison Smith. She was the wife of the late Joseph Clyde Smith, Sr. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a retired seamstress. She was a member of the Pleasant Plains Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith was predeceased by a granddaughter, Wanda Torrance, a great grandson, Danny J. Blount, Jr , three sisters and four brothers.

Survivors are her children, Joseph Clyde Smith, Jr. of North, SC, Mary Elizabeth Smith Page of Decatur, Benny F. Smith of Warner Robins, Faye Smith Blount of Harrison and Linda Smith Query of Harrison, nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren, a sister in law, Lorene Smith of Savannah.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Monday.

The family suggests that donations be made to Nightingale Hospice, 606 West Court Street, Wrightsville, Georgia 31096.
