Elizabeth Dukes

Mrs. Elizabeth Scarborough Dukes, age 93, of Ridgeland Drive in Sandersville, died Wednesday December 9, 2015, at the Hollander Senior Living Center in Walton County following an extended illness. A celebration of Mrs. Dukes’ life will take place at a later date and will be announced by the May and Smith Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dukes was born in Laurens County and raised in Washington County the daughter of the late William Augustus Scarborough and the late Alma Parker Scarborough. She was a homemaker and a former employee of the Geo. D. Warthen Bank. Mrs. Dukes was a past member of the First Baptist Church of Sandersville and she is preceded in death by her husband William Gaston Dukes Jr.

Survivors are: her son William G. “Tony” Dukes III and his wife Beverly of Watkinsville; grandchildren, Dan Dukes and his wife Clarissa of Jackson, MS, and Erin D. Gray and her husband Bill of Glenn Mills, PA; and great grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Dukes, Joy Dukes, Hannah Dukes, Noah Gray, Judah Gray, Evie Gray and Addie Gray.
