Mrs. Elizabeth Hodges Wallace, age 106, of Sandersville, died Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at the Heritage Inn Nursing Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 20th, at 11:00 a.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Brownwood Cemetery. Reverends Ron Dixon and Matthew Pierson will officiate. Mrs. Wallace’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Wallace was born in Glascock County the daughter of the late Napoleon Sims Wallace and the late Alice Kitchens Hodges. She was a homemaker and a former member of the Sisters Baptist Church and the Sisters Community Club. Mrs. Wallace was a current member of the Davisboro United Methodist Church where she participated in the UMW. She is predeceased by her husband, Charles Branan Wallace; her son and daughter-in-law, Reverend Charles “Eddy” Wallace and wife Betty; her granddaughter, Lynn Wallace; and her son-in-law, Gene Bethea.
Survivors are her children, Tommy Wallace and his wife Carolyn of Sandersville and Jeanne W. Bethea of Sanford N.C.; grandchildren, Ed Bethea and his wife Rhonda of Mantio N.C., Phil Bethea and his wife Shaun of Sanford N.C., Mark Bethea and his wife Vicki of Fuqua-Varina N.C., Ashley Bethea and his wife Jane of Moncure N.C., Laurie Wallace of Sandersville, David Wallace and his wife Cindi of Cheraw S.C., Lisa W. Giles and her husband Charlie of Deepstep and Steve Wallace and his wife Christy of Sandersville; 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home.
