Ella Mary Hattaway

Mrs. Ella Mary Walker Hattaway, age 100, of Warthen died Saturday morning June 26 in the Extended Care Facility in Sandersville.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday June 28 in the Pine Hill United Methodist Church near Warthen with burial in the Pine Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Don Black will officiate. Pallbearers will be Tommy May, Jerry May, Al Woods, Ronnie Hattaway, Rusty Hattaway, Stephen Corbett, J. W. May, Jed May, Walker May, John Hattaway,and Greg Brantley.

Mrs. Hattaway was a native and life long resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Henry F. Walker and the late Adelle Rachels Walker. She was the wife of the late Richard Thomas Hattaway, Sr. She was predeceased by a son, Albert “Sonny” Hattaway. Mrs. Hattaway was a homemaker. She was a member of the Pine Hill United Methodist Church and a former Sunday school teacher.

Survivors are her children, Catherine H. Woods of Warthen, Shirley H. May of Sandersville and Richard T. Hattaway, Jr. of Warthen, nine grandchildren, Cindy Corbett, Rick Hattaway, Tommy May, Ronnie Hattaway, Billy Woods, Jerry May, Al Woods, Kim Godfrey and Rusty Hattaway, seventeen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M. on Sunday and also, at the residence of Mrs. Catherine H. Woods, 430 Hamburg State Park Road, Warthen.

The family suggests that donations be made to the Pine Hill United Methodist Church in care of Mrs. Margie Sheppard, 2102 Bay Springs Road, Warthen, Georgia 31094.
