Eloise Byrd

Mrs. Eloise Byrd, age 84, of 505 Riddleville Road, Sandersville, died Tuesday morning, June 21, 2011 at the Heritage Inn Nursing Home of Sandersville. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 24th, at 10:00 AM in the First Baptist Church of Sandersville with burial in the Brownwood Cemetery. The Rev. Lee Lacey will officiate. Pallbearers will be Eddie Warren, Mike Dillard, Charles Jordan, Billy Brown, Will Mosley, Jason Buck and Brent Palmer.

Mrs. Byrd, a native of Horry County, S.C., was the daughter of the late Walter Hobson Hamilton and the late Dana Lenora Gerald Hamilton. She was predeceased by her husband, Ellis Byrd, and a sister, Eunice Gerald King. Mrs. Byrd was a member of the First Baptist Church and a life member of the Order of the
Eastern Star. She was a salesperson for Sandersville Jewelers for over 33 years.

Survivors include her sons, Jerry Bevian Byrd of Sandersville and Barry Ellis Byrd of Knoxville, TN.
8 Grandchildren, 8 Great-Grandchildren, and a sister Elizabeth "Jo" Howard of Bayboro, S.C.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the May & Smith Funeral Home.

The family suggests donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Sandersville, 316 Mathis Circle, Sandersville, Georgia 31082.
