Elsie "Tobie" Brooks

Mrs. Elsie “Tobie” Brooks, age 92, of Oconee died Sunday January 31 in the Extended Care Facility in Sandersville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday February 3 in the Antioch Christian Church in Oconee. The Rev. Dennis Burgess and Rev. David Fincher will officiate with burial in the Antioch Christian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the Deacons and Elders of the Antioch Christian Church.

Mrs. Brooks was a native of Washington County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Charlie Anderson Brooks and the late Gertrude Eubanks Brooks. She was the wife of the late Marion Braxton Brooks and was predeceased by her brother C. A. “Buster” Brooks. Mrs. Brooks was a homemaker and a member of the Antioch Christian Church.

Survivors are her son, Danny Brooks and his wife Sandra of Macon, three grandchildren, Carolyn (Ben) Kobeck of Columbus, Kevin (Catie) Brooks and Adam Brooks both of Macon, two great grandchildren, Will Kobeck and Walker Kobeck and her other family at the Extended Care Facility.

The family suggests that donations be made to the Extended Care Activities Fund, P. O. Box 636, Sandersville, Georgia 31082. The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday.
