Mr. Emory Dean Wicker, age 67, of Gwendolyn Street in Sandersville, died Thursday, July 19, 2012. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 22nd
at 3:00pm at May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Rev. Lee Lacey and Rev. Wyman Hodges will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Dan Barker, Andy Still, Jamie Avant, Ben Avant, Hudson Avant, Chris Albright, Woody Woodard, Butch Strickland, Charles Orr and Jess Williams.
Mr. Wicker was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County the son of the late James Albany Wicker and the late Donie Pearl Lawrence Wicker. He was retired from Engelhard Corporation as a mine superintendent.
Survivors are: his wife Patricia Alexander Wicker of Sandersville; his son, Kevin Emory (Dawn) Wicker of Eatonton; one grandson, Daniel Seth Wicker also of Eatonton; his sister, Joanne W. (Hut) Avant of Sandersville and his brother, James “Jimmy” Clyde (Francine) Wicker of Sandersville.
The family will be at the residence of Joanne and Hut Avant on Laurel Drive in Sandersville and they will receive friends Sunday from 2:00pm until the hour of service at the May and Smith Funeral Home.
