Eugene Harold Baxley

Mr. Eugene Harold Baxley, age 82, of Davisboro died on Tuesday December 8, 2015, in an Augusta hospital following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 11, in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Sandersville. Jerry Lanier and James Braddy will officiate. Pallbearers will be William Dukes, Bryan Dukes, Christopher McBride, Frankie Nelson, Danny Nelson, Donald Wiley and Tommy Peeler. Interment services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday in the Habersham United Methodist Church Cemetery near Millen.

Mr. Baxley was a native of Jenkins County, the son of the late Sidney Baxley and the late Lizzie Elizabeth Jenkins Baxley. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene Baxley Kitchens. Mr. Baxley was a retired engineer with the Georgia Department of Transportation and a farmer. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Survivors are: his wife, Charlotte Jackson Baxley of Davisboro; two daughters, Donna Dukes and her husband William of Davisboro, and Tammie McBride and her husband Kenneth of Davisboro; five grandchildren, Thomas Peeler, Bryan Dukes, Tiffany Craven, Charity McBride and Kristtapher McBride; six great grandchildren, Karley Cruz, Emiliano Cruz, Carlos Cruz, Riley Craven, Giles Dukes and Trip Peeler.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Thursday.
