Mrs. Eunice Jeanette Allen Wommack of Eatonton, died Friday, July 18, 2014 at her residence following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 20th at 3:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Riddleville Cemetery. Rev. Sam Allen will officiate. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Wommack’s grandsons.
Mrs. Wommack was born in Columbus, the daughter of the late William Allen and the late Minnie Collier Allen. She was a graduate of Baker High School in Columbus and she attended Marsh Business College in Atlanta where she met her husband Bob of 62 plus years. They established and operated a family printing business for 52 years and where members of the Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Wommack had a sincere appreciation for art, crafts and gardening. She truly believed she was closer to God in the Garden. Mrs. Wommack is predeceased by her husband of Robert (Bob) Elmer Wommack, Jr., her son R. Elmer Wommack III, her daughter Wanda Kay Wommack, sisters, Myrtle Allen Brown wife of David Brown, Flora Allen Brown wife of Joe Brown, Ethel Allen Bullard, wife of Lee Bullard and Mary Allen Corley wife of Oscar Corley and brothers, James (Jim) Allen and Thomas (Newt) Allen.
Mrs. Wommack is survived by her son, Michael J. Wommack; her daughter, Viki Wommack Shadoan and her husband Steve; her daughter-in-law Gail Lockwood Pieniak; grandchildren, Jason R. Wommack, Michael A. Hart and his wife Jennifer, Shannon Wommack Robbins and her husband Justin, William R. S. Hart and his wife Alexandra, and John T. Hart; step grandsons, Austin J. Shadoan and Garrett S. Shadoan; great-grandchildren, Cadence Robbins, Braydon Williams and Addison Williams; her brother, Reverend H. Sam Allen and his wife Vivian, sister-in-laws Ethel Gosa Allen and Daisy Teal Allen; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and several good friends who are special and feel related.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Sunday at the May and Smith Funeral Home.
