Mr. Eunious Jackson Etheridge, age 93, of 221 South Central Avenue in Tennille died Tuesday morning, March 13, 2012, in the Oconee Health Care.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 15th, in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville. The Rev. Jeff Cook will officiate with burial in the Washington County Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Harry Cook, Billy Davis, Ken Etheridge, Edwin Etheridge, Ray Etheridge and Dr. Vic Etheridge.
Mr. Etheridge was a native of Jefferson County, Georgia, the son of late Minor J. Etheridge, Sr. and the late Cleo Jenkins Etheridge. He was the husband of the late Marie Purser Etheridge. Mr. Etheridge was the electrical foreman for Thiele Kaolin Company with over 36 years of service. He was a member of the Tennille Baptist Church. Mr. Etheridge was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Etheridge, a sister, Mae E. Moody and three brothers, Minor J. Etheridge, Jr., Lloyd Etheridge and Otis Etheridge.
Survivors are his daughter, Patsy Etheridge Blount and her husband Dean of Tennille, two granddaughters, Deana Blount Dalrymple of Bald Ground and Diana Blount of Canton, four great-grandchildren, Cliff Dalrymple, Ashley Dalrymple, Deidra Dalrymple and Katheryn Dalrymple, a sister, Virginia Etheridge Davis of Tennille and a brother, Roy Etheridge of Sandersville.
The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday.
