Mrs. Everett was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Lila Maybell Shurling Tyson and Robert Moses Tyson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, James Ostell Everett and daughter, Patricia Ann Everett Tyson; sisters, Ellen Penrod and Nellie Boyd; and brothers, Grady Tyson, John Tyson and Fred Tyson.
Mrs. Everett was a faithful member of Deepstep Community Church, the Laura Hall Circle and church choir. She was a past business owner in Sandersville, with her sister-in-law, Betty Everett. She had many talents including being a wonderful cook and a baker of delicious cakes. Most would know her as an excellent seamstress for her family and the community. She was by far the best Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, setting the Christian example for all, being the epitome of the virtuous woman (Proverbs 31). She was a proud supporter of Brentwood School. She loved sports and the Atlanta Braves.
Survivors are her daughters, Marie Hitchcock (Waylan), Susan Smith (Jimmy Ray), Sherri Black (Troy) and Jaime Archer (Julian), all of Tennille; 13 Grandchildren and 16 Great-Grandchildren; sister, Pat Davis of Sandersville; and son-in-law, Tristan Tyson of Harrison.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to Brentwood School, P O Box 955, Sandersville GA 31082 or the Deepstep Community Church - Laura Hall Circle, c/o Carol Veal, 199 Tucker Road, Sandersville GA 31082.
The family would like to thank the employees of Heritage Inn, Dr. and Mrs. Kim Kitchens, Affinis Hospice, and caregivers for the attention and care given to our Mama.
