Evelyn Brantley Elton

Mrs. Evelyn Brantley Elton, age 74, of Oconee died Sunday December 28 in the Emory University Hospital in Atlanta following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday December 31 in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Emory Anderson will officiate. Burial will be private.

Mrs. Elton was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Willie G. Brantley. She was the wife of the late Billy Lovonne Elton and was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Kitchens and a brother, Dean Brantley. Mrs. Elton was a homemaker and the director of service at Herb’s. She was a member of the Oconee Church of God.

Survivors are her daughter, Shirley Elton Johnson and her husband Steve of Milledgeville, her mother, Mary Yates Brantley of Oconee, a granddaughter, Erica May Ingram and her husband Joel of Sandersville, two great grandchildren, Khelton Ingram and Hillaree Ingram, two brothers, Glenn Brantley and his wife Cindy of Oconee and Ray Brantley of Sandersville.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 1:00 P.M. Wednesday until the hour of service.
