Florence Emily Green

Mrs. Florence Emily Green, age 81, of Tennille, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Atrium Health in Macon. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville with burial to follow in Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Reverend Brant Kennedy will officiate. Pallbearers will be, Darryl Green, Jr., Mathew Green, Tim Blue, Jordan Reid, Chris Hodges, and Keith Mayo. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Turner, David Turner, Paul Turner, and Jerry Wilkerson.

Mrs. Green was a lifelong native of Washington County, the daughter of the late Veasey Turner and the late Mattie Lora Horton Turner. She was a homemaker for her husband and four boys. She held a great love for fishing and enjoyed tending the flowers in her flower bed as well as freezing vegetables from the garden. Above all else, Mrs. Green cherished time spent with her family, especially when she could get all three of her boys together for the holidays. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Kerry Green.

Mrs. Green is survived by her loving husband, William Henry Green; sons, Darryl Green and his wife Joyce of Tennille, Keith Green and his wife Pam of Milledgeville, Travis Green and his wife Christy of Tennille; grandchildren, Kevin Green, Dana Blue and her husband Tim, Darryl Green, Jr. and his wife Carly, DeAnna Reid and her husband Jordan, Lyndsay Green, Mathew Green, April Smith, and Tim Stephens;  great grandchildren; Bella Reid, Hunter Reid, Darryl “Trey” Green, III, Carly Green, and Emily Green; a special niece, Judy Wilkerson of Tennille; and great nieces, Amber Mayo and Alecia Hodges.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 14, 2022, at May and Smith Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
