Frances Wilson Davenport

Mrs. Frances Wilson Davenport, age 91, of Sandersville GA, died Thursday, July 25, 2013. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 27th, at 11:00 a.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with burial at 4:00 p.m. at the Belton Cemetery in Belton SC. Reverend Lee Lacey and Reverend Roy Smith will officiate.

Mrs. Davenport was a native of Anderson SC, the daughter of the late Broadus Guyton Wilson and the late Lee Rogers Wilson. She resided in Sandersville for many years where she was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Sandersville. Mrs. Davenport is predeceased by her husbands, William Marvin Harris and Jack Fred Davenport; sisters, Elizabeth Campbell and Evelyn Evans; and her brother, Broadus G. Wilson, Jr.

Survivors are: her niece Patricia Reese and her husband Bill of Thomson GA; her nephew, Richard Gilmer and his wife Pam of Evans, GA; her step-daughter, Judy Benefield and her husband Jim of Cartersville, GA; two great-nieces; one great-nephew; two step-grandchildren; and six step-great- grandchildren.

The family suggests donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Sandersville, 316 Mathis Circle, Sandersville, GA 31082 or to the Leukemia Research Foundation, 3520 Lake Avenue, Suite 202, Wilmette, IL 60091.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday and also at the graveside following the committal service.
