Frances Cummings Simons

Frances Cummings Simons age 78, passed away Monday, November 13, 2017. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 16, at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with Rev. Arthur Gunn officiating. Burial will follow at Warthen Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Simons was born October 30, 1939 in Warthen and lived most of her life in Milledgeville before moving to Warner Robins. She received her certificate in Community Bank Management from the University of Wisconsin in 1981. She was retired for Century Bank & Trust. She was preceded in death by Zack Brown Cummings and Mattie Lou Kelly Cummings, and brothers William Durward Cummings and James F. Cummings. She was a member of Island Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of over 60 years Malcom Ray Simons, her daughter Doris S. Peavy (Gerald), her son Johnny Simons (Bunnie), sister Jean C. Smith and Linda C. Parker (Bobby) and her brother Carl S. Cummings (Jean), grandchildren Jamie Caraway (Gary), Haley Becker (Taylor), Elena Larrauri Hicks (Ryan), Lindsey Garretson (Jeremy), Juan (Tony) Larrauri (Lauren), great grandchildren Davis Ray Caraway, Rees Gilman Caraway, Ellis Andrew Frost and Kyli Garretson and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. at Moores Funeral Home.

The family request in lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
