Mrs. Frances Zagar Smith, age 82, of Sandersville, died Friday, March 25, 2011 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 28th at 2:00pm at the First Church of the Nazarene with burial in Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville. Rev. Danny Thomas will officiate Pallbearers will be Jason Boatright, Mack Alan Boatright, Christopher Michael Boatright, Larry Edwin Smith Jr., Derrick Waller, Jordan Jenkins, Kenneth Waller, Devin Easterly, and Zackary Smith.
Mrs. Smith was born in Toombs County the daughter of the late Joseph Zagar Sr. and the late Lula Carol Zagar. She was formerly employed as a seamstress for Royal Manufacturing, R.J. Studdard Co. and the William Carter Co. Mrs. Smith was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She is predeceased by her husband William Dudley Smith and her son Jule Dudley Smith .
Survivors are; her children Charles L. Smith, of Sandersville, William Joe Smith (Rosalee) of Sandersville, Mrs. Mack Boatright (Mack) of Tennille, Shirley Landry (Bobby) of Sandersville, Nora Rachels (Johnny) of Sandersville, Larry E. Smith Sr. (Renee) of Sandersville, Angie Easterly (Bob) of Eatonton, Chris M. Smith of Tennille, Mabel Jenkins (Harvey) of Sandersville, Schynell Bragg (Ed) of Jasper and Michael Smith (Allison) of Warthen, 24 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren.
The family will be at the Smith residence 734 Riddleville Rd. Sandersville and will receive friends on Sunday from 4 to 6pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home.
The family suggests that donations be made to the JELO Fund, c/o The First Church of the Nazarene, P. O. Box 801, Sandersville, Georgia 31082.
