Mr. Frank Arthur Yates, Sr., age 78 of Davisboro, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at his residence following an extended illness. A service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date at United Faith Ministries in Davisboro.
Mr. Yates is the son of the late Horace Greely Yates, and the late Anna Bessie Carey Yates. He was a very talented diesel mechanic by trade, and he also enjoyed wood working and tractor restoration in his free time. Mr. Yates grew up on the family farm and he was excellent at gardening. He possessed great intelligence and was very witty. Mr. Yates gave his heart to Christ in 1984, and his faith was integral in his life. He was a natural leader and helped build Hillside Church of God in Milledgeville, and cooked the “best biscuits” at youth camp. Mr. Yates was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by his siblings, Rob Yates, George Yates, Marywell Coleman, Lucille Morris, Wallace Yates and Margaret Edinfield.
Mr. Yates is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sandra Yates; children, Frank Arthur Yates, Jr., Horace Arthur “Artie” Yates, Cloressa Yates, Cynthia Suggs (Earl), Wendy Weygant, and Matthew Yates (Michelle); 19 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; sister, Glenda Anderson (Danny); and many nieces and nephews.
The family will be at the Yates residence on South Main Street in Davisboro, and will receive friends there on Friday, December 23, 2022 at 12 noon.
