Franklin R Brown

November 7, 1933 — February 1, 2017

Mr. Franklin Rembert Brown, age 83, of Davisboro, died Wednesday, February 01, 2017. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Davisboro Baptist Church with burial in Sisters Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend Joe Springer and Reverend Larry Glover will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Cobb, John Prosser, David Dollar, Russ Brown, Chris Brown, and Pat Brown.

Mr. Brown was born in Washington County, the son of the late Johnnie B. Brown and the late Annie Mary Page Brown. He was a retired truck driver for Howard Sheppard Inc. and a former employee of Sandersville Railroad.; Mr. Brown was a former longtime volunteer fireman with the Sandersville Fire Department and he also served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves. Mr. Brown was a former resident of Rincon for 31 years where he served as a trustee at Rincon Baptist Temple.  Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Louise Brown.

Survivors include: his wife of 57 years, Glenda Knight Brown of Davisboro; sons, Jimmy D. Brown and his wife Norma of Sandersville, and Franklin Wendell Brown of Statesboro; grandchildren, Jamie B. Cobb and her husband Daniel and Crystal B. Dollar and her husband David; great granddaughter, Sophia Rayne Cobb; and brother, Andrew Brown of Warthen.

The family will be at the Brown residence on N. Thomas Street in Davisboro and they will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m. at the Davisboro Baptist Church.
