Freddie Wayne Garrett, Sr., 54, of Bluefield died Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY. Born February 14, 1966, in Bluefield, he was the son of the late Issac Lawrence Garrett, Sr. and Hazel Irene Saunders Garrett. Freddie was an avid fisherman and loved spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Issac Lawrence “Bimbo” Garrett, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Linda Sue Coalson Garrett of Bluefield; sons, Freddie Garrett, Jr. and wife Ashley of Princeton, Aaron Garrett of Bluefield, Justin Garrett of Princeton, and Samuel Garrett Compton of Princeton; daughter, Kimberly Coalson and husband Nicky Gilley of Princeton; six grandchildren, Skyler Nelson, Kensleigh Garrett, Nicholas Gilley, Ryan Gilley, Lucas Clower, and Judd Gilley; six siblings, Fred Lawrence Garrett and wife Darlene of Sandersville, GA, Pam “Sis” Davis of Sutton, James Lee Garrett and wife Sue of Davisboro, GA, Linda Ann Garrett of Bramwell, Brenda Lou James of Hickory, NC, and Timmy Joe Garrett of Princeton; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Freddie’s brother, Pastor Fred Garrett officiating. In honoring his wishes, he will be cremated following the service. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour Saturday. Please follow all COVID-19 guidelines set forth by the Governor and local health department by practicing social distancing and wearing masks for your safety and the safety of others.
