Mr. G.L. Frazier, age 68, of Tennille, passed away at his residence, surrounded by his family on Thursday, June 6, 2024. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with burial following at Baldwin Memorial Gardens in Milledgeville. Reverend Andy Yates will officiate, and pallbearers will be, Ross Capps, Micah Limbaugh, Jamie Frazier, Garrett Powell, Cale Thomaston, and Joe Hartley. Honorary Pallbearers will be the AIC/GK Maintenance Shop. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Frazier was born Gordon Luther Frazier, the son of the late Hubie Frazier and the late Edwena Veal Frazier. G.L was born in Sparta and was a 1973 graduate of John Hancock Academy. He spent his working career as a Millwright 4 with Georgia Kaolin, AIC, and Imerys. G.L. was an avid Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves fan, and rarely, if ever, missed a game. In his free time, he would fish, and go camping. G.L. enjoyed working with his hands and could fix or build just about anything. He was also a great cook, who enjoyed grilling, and eating, especially “Little Debbie’s.” G.L.’s greatest love was his wife of 46 years, his children, and his grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Poppy.” He was a faithful member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Sherod Frazier, Lamar Frazier, and Kay Rachels.
Mr. Frazier is survived by his wife, Darlene Watson Frazier; daughters, Brandi Frazier Beal and her husband Ashley of Bonaire, and Lindsey Frazier Layfield and her husband Blake of Reynolds; son, Luke Frazier and his wife Sarah of Tennille; grandchildren, Carsyn Beal, Emmie Beal, Henry Layfield, Grady Layfield, Tyler Frazier, and Rowan Frazier; brother, Al Frazier and his wife Jane of Eatonton; sisters-in-law, Carlene “Sissy” Walden and her husband Mike of Milledgeville, and Patsy Frazier of Cochran; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Youth Program, c/o Hodges Hartley, 270 News Bridge Road, Tennille, GA 31089.
