Mr. Gary Michael Harney, age 73 of Tennille, formerly of Reynoldsburg, Ohio passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021, at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin. Mr. Harney will be inurned at the Georgia Veteran’s Cemetery in Milledgeville.
Mr. Harney was born in Covington, Kentucky, the son of the late Ben G. Harney and the late Rose Marie Riley Harney. He served as a Sergeant in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam Conflict. Mr. Harney spent most of his working career as a security guard. He can best be described as a gun enthusiast, who loved to visit the shooting range. Mr. Harney was a very likeable and relatable man who had a great work ethic and was known to speak his mind. In addition to the shooting range, Mr. Harney was a frequent visitor to Frisch’s and Cracker Barrel. Mr. Harney was a member of Disabled American Veterans. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Ben Harney and Phil Harney, and sister, Sonia Finnell.
Mr. Harney is survived by his wife, Peg M. Harney of Tennille; stepson, William Andrew “Drew” Saygrove and his wife Holly of Logan, Ohio; grandchildren, Michael, Logan, Ronen, and Korbin; sister, Shirley Robinson of Indiana; sister-in-law, Sandra Harney of Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.
