Mrs. Geneva Marie Turner Benavides, age 52, of Macon died Tuesday, April 30, 2013 in the Medical Center in Macon following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 3rd, at 2:00 P.M. in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with burial in the Washington County Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The Rev. L. T. Logue will officiate. Pallbearers will be John Turner, Thomas Smith, John Smith, Mark Kent, Justin Turner and Greg Lord.
Mrs. Benavides was a native of Ft. Meade Maryland, but lived in the Sandersville area in her early years. She was the daughter of the late Johnny Lavon Turner and the late Eleanor Lester Turner. She was a retired licensed practical nurse with the Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville. Mrs. Benavides was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church.
Survivors are: her husband, Quirina Benavides of Macon; a daughter, Kristen Michelle Finney-Anthony of Macon; a son, Clarke Lavon Anthony of Macon; a sister, Betty Jean Turner Smith and her husband Chris of Sandersville; two brothers, Wendell Thomas Turner of Glenwood and John Robert Turner and his wife Lisa of Glenwood; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home from 12:30 P.M. Friday until the hour of service.
May and Smith Funeral Directors in Sandersville is in charge of the arrangements.
