Geneva Johnson Bussell

Mrs. Geneva Johnson Bussell, age 88, of Tennille, GA passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2015 under the care of Tennille Retirement Home and Pruitt Hospice of Swainsboro, GA. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 10, in the May Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville, GA. Elder Kenneth Brantley and the Reverend Devita Bussell Parnell will officiate.

Burial will be at Zeta Cemetery in Tennille, GA.

Pallbearers will include Charles Gibson, Jeff Richardson, Mark Parnell, Jerry Case, Lewis Berry, and Andy Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be friends of the Afternoon McDonalds Group.

Mrs. Bussell was a lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Brooks and Elizabeth Johnson. She was preceeded in death by George Bussell, her husband of sixty one years. She was a member of Mt. Nebo Primitive Baptist Church, Mitchell, GA, where she faithfully attended all her life. She retired as a supervisor from Delta Apparall after forty eight years of service.

Survivors are her children Gary Bussell (Kathy) Sandersville and Dale Bussell Gibson (Walter), Statesboro.

Grandchildren include Devita Parnell (Mark), Lillburn; Charles Gibson, Atlanta; and Gina Gibson Richardson (Jeff), Statesboro.

Great grandchildren include Tyler and Julia Parnell, Lillburn and Monroe Richardson, Statesboro.

One sister Nadine Johnson Faulkner Stockbridge, GA.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville, GA from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, November 9.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Tennille Zeta Cemetery Trust, P.O. Box 1, Tennille, GA 31089.
