George Dennis Bussell

Mr. George Dennis Bussell, age 87, of 2630 Tennille – Oconee Road in Tennille died Sunday May 11 in the Washington County Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday May 13 in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville. The Elder Lee Price will officiate with burial in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Pallbearers will be Charles Gibson, Marvin Johnson, Earl Johnson, Evan Johnson, Marion Dalton, Lewis Berry, Aaron Johnson, and Johnnie Durden. Honorary group will be the McDonalds Coffee Group.

Mr. Bussell was a native and life long resident of Washington County, the son of the late Vestus Bussell and the late Lizzie Webster Bussell. He was a carpenter and worked for years for Lacy Brothers Contractors. He was of the Baptist Faith and was an Army veteran of World War II having served in the Philippines.

Survivors are his wife, Geneva Johnson Bussell of Tennille, a daughter, Dale Bussell Gibson of Statesboro, a son, Gary Bussell of Sandersville, daughter in law, Kathy Bussell of Sandersville, son in law, Walter Gibson of Statesboro, three grandchildren, Devita (Mark) Bussell Parnell, Charles Stephen Gibson and Gina Lynn Gibson, two great grandchildren, Tyler James Parnell and Julia Kathryn Parnell.

May and smith Funeral Home in Sandersville is in charge of the arrangements.
