George Charles Jones

Mr. George Charles Jones, 78, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away on December 15, 2016. Mr. Jones was born in Glenville, Georgia to Josh & Janie Ruth Jones. A veteran of the United States Army, Mr. Jones went on to a career as a land surveyor, retiring from Robert Armstrong Surveying. In his spare time, Mr. Jones was an avid coin collector and in his earlier years, he enjoyed dancing—especially the Jitterbug. Mr. Jones is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dorothy Riggs. He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his devoted wife of fifty-five years, Rita Jones; two sons, Kenneth Jones and Clinton Jones; two brothers, Robert (Barbara) Jones and Richard (Barbara) Jones; a sister, Rebecca Moss; and a host of family and friends. The Jones family will gather at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, Georgia on January 6, 2017 at 2:30pm for interment with full military honors. Roy Davis Funeral Home in Austell, Georgia has been entrusted with arrangements.
