Mr. George Thomas Sellars, Jr., age 86 of Tennille, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery, in Warthen. Reverend Lamar Brantley will officiate, and the family will receive friends following the service in the cemetery.
Mr. Sellars was a life-long resident of Washington County, the son of the late George Thomas Sellars, Sr. and the late Myrtice Duggan Sellars. He was a graduate of Tennille High School and attended Brewton Parker College. Mr. Sellars served his country in the National Guard and Army during the Berlin Crisis. He was a shift foreman at Imerys, and also operated his own business, Big Value Furniture, where he sold his own flower arrangements. Mr. Sellars enjoyed fishing and working in his garden, as well as traveling to the mountains. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Glenda Faye Sellars.
Mr. Sellars is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Norris Sellars; children, Tammy Hodges (Bruce), George H. Sellars (Isabel), and Larry Sellars (Heather); brother, Noah Sellars (Ruth); sister, Shirley Smith; grandsons, Bruce Hodges (Heather), Patrick Jackson, and G.B. Sellars; granddaughter, Adrian Fain (Kevin) and a special granddaughter, Krystal Davis (Matthew); great granddaughters, Amber Grace Hodges, Kayla Sellars, Madison Davis, and Kailyn Hodges; stepson, Michael Norris (Tracy); step-granddaughters, Abigail Norris and Hannah Norris; and a host of nieces and nephews.
