Mrs. Georgia Ann Little Davis, age 70, of Tennille, died Thursday, February 12, 2015. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February the 16th, at 11:00 a.m. at the Tennille United Methodist Church with burial in the Zeta Cemetery. Reverends Randall Smith and Mark Jones III will officiate. Pallbearers will be Larry Mimbs, Ron Deem, John Duggan, Eugene Renfroe, Eugene Lovett and Hodges Hartley.
Mrs. Davis was born in Richmond County the daughter of the late Clarence LeRoy Little, Jr. and the late Ella Mae Corn Little. She was retired from the Johnson County Department of Family and Children Services after 34 years of service. Mrs. Davis’ first and lifelong love was music. She was a former longtime member of the Tennille Baptist Church where she served as church organist and currently she was a member of the Tennille United Methodist Church where she also shared her musical talent. Outside of family, work and her church, Georgia Ann loved to cook and sew.
Survivors are her husband, Gene Davis of Tennille; daughters Gail Davis Smith and her husband Devin of Perry and Gwen Davis Yarbrough; grandchildren, Erin Smith, Taylor Smith, David Souter and Daniel Yarbrough; and her sisters, Julia L. Dean and her husband Steve of Rockmart and Mary Ella L. Johnson and her husband Doug of Milledgeville.
The family will be at the Davis residence on Hwy. 15. South of Tennille and they will receive friends on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
