Gerald Feagin “Pat” Stewart, age 89, of Howard Creek Florida, formerly of Washington County, Georgia, died February 20, 2015 in Howard Creek, Florida.

A memorial service was held at 9 AM on February 28, 2015 at the Howard Creek Community Center. Interment will be in Dozier Cemetery , Dozier, Alabama at a later date.

Mr. Stewart was born December 2, 1925, in Crenshaw County, Alabama, the son of the late Theophas VanBuren and Nina Earl McGhee Stewart. Mr. Stewart, a World War II Army Veteran, was a POW and recipient of both the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He was a former aircraft machinist, farmer, and retired shrimp boat captain. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Janet Ruth Sheppard Stewart.

His survivors include his five children: Susan Stewart (Walt McCollam) of Floyds Knob, Indiana; William “Billy” Stewart (Lorraine) of Cumming, Georgia; David Stewart of Tennille, Georgia; Nancy Bush of Menlo Park, California; and Henry Stewart of Gainesville, Georgia; two sisters: Jean Tidwell of Milledgeville, Georgia, and Barbara Corley (Bob) of Thomaston, Georgia; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
