Grace Veal Harris

Mrs. Grace Veal Harris, age 83, of Deepstep died Friday, April 3, 2015, in the Extended Care Facility in Sandersville following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Sunday, April 5th, in the Deepstep United Methodist Church. Reverend Jason McClendon and Reverend Bruce Pittman will officiate with burial in the Deepstep Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Travis Andrews, Thomas Harris, Matthew Harris, Daniel Harris, Dalton Harris, Damon Harris, and David Tanner.

Mrs. Harris was a native of Washington County, Georgia, the daughter of the late James Wright Veal and the late Fannie Ruth Martin Veal. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cyrus Thomas Harris, Sr. and her son Darryl Glenn Harris. Mrs. Harris was a bookkeeper for CT Harris, Inc. and a homemaker. Mrs. Harris was a member of the Deepstep United Methodist Church, the Laura Hall Circle, the John Wesley Sunday School Class, and a former member of the church choir.

Survivors are her children: Cindy Harris Andrews, Cyrus T. Harris, Jr. and his wife Sherri, and Michael Keith Harris and his wife Patti, all of Deepstep, Georgia; a daughter-in-law, Anne Helton Harris; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Ann Pittman of Leesburg, Georgia, Mary Andrews of Deepstep, Georgia and Martha Helton of Deepstep, Georgia.

The family will receive friends at the church from 3:00 P.M. until the hour of service. Donations may be made to Deepstep United Methodist Church, c/o Stacey Brown 97 Club Forest Drive, Tennille, Ga. 31089.
