Greg Hodges

Mr. Bryan Gregory Hodges Sr., age 57, of Sandersville, died unexpectedly Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Washington County Regional Medical Center.   A funeral service celebrating Greg’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 12 ^th at 2:00 p.m. at Kendall Heights Church of God with burial in Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Reverend Bobby Williford will officiate. Greg’s grandsons will serve  as pallbearers. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the church.

Greg was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late Bernard Lamar Hodges Sr. and the late Mary Tanner Hodges  He grew up on his family farm north of Tennille where he began his working career farming with his father. Greg began a lifelong trade as a mechanic working for the Massey Ferguson Dealership. He later worked for the city of Tennille and Washington County Machine Shop.  In 2011, Greg began working for Howard Sheppard Inc. where he was currently the heavy equipment shop supervisor.  Greg always possessed an ability to fix anything improvising with almost any tool handy. He loved fishing, especially on lake Oconee and he cherished his time spent with grandchildren and caring for his dogs.

Survivors are his wife, Geraldine Bridges Hodges of Sandersville; children, Bryan Hodges and his wife Mary of Oconee, Lisa Sinclair and her husband James of Statesboro, Angela Thompson and her husband Franklin and Pamela Blue and her husband Jack all of Deepstep, and Tonya Fordham and Jessica Hodges both of Sandersville; sixteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and siblings, B. L. “Buddy” Hodges Jr. and Bruce Hodges and his wife Tammy.
