Gregory Frank Avrett

Mr. Gregory Frank Avrett, age 51, of Tennille, died Wednesday, August 20, 2015. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 23rd, at 11:00 a.m. at the Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church with burial in the Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville. The Elder Kenneth Brantley will officiate. Pallbearers will be Ethan Webster, Gabe Avrett, Zach Towner, Jeff Flemister, Blake Frost, C.J. Pulver, Billy Leisy and Austin Whitesides. The Brentwood Class of 1981 will sit as an honorary group.

Gregory was born in Sandersville the son of the late Walter Lee Avrett III and Frances Flanders Avrett. He was a Primerica Representative and also an O.S.J. Coordinator for Avrett International. Gregory was an active member of the Mt. Gilead Church, a graduate of Brentwood School and a member of the Sandersville Rotary Club. He was a lover of the outdoors and enjoyed managing his family farm, Big Tree Glenn, in Hancock County. Gregory assumed a patriarchs’ role in his family due to the premature death of his father and fulfilled his role superbly by becoming a solid rock to many family members.

Survivors are his wife, Pam Mason Avrett; his mother, Frances Flanders Avrett of Oakwood; children, Gregory Lee Avrett and his wife Lauren of Tennille, Michael James Avrett and his fiancé Shanna of Sandersville, and Rebecca Frances Avrett of Tennille; grandchildren, Tanner Lee Avrett, Ezra Frank Avrett and Ryder James Avrett; siblings, Lee Anna A. Webster and her husband Jeff and Laura A. Towner and her husband Mike all of Suwanee, Walter Daniel Avrett and his wife Jen of Hoschton, and Sarah A. Shipe and her husband Chris of Gainesville; his grandfather, Frank Flanders of Sandersville and 11 special nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
