Gregory Arthur Brantley

October 17, 1977 — May 28, 2024

Sandersville

Gregory "Greg" Arthur Brantley, age 46 of Sandersville, transitioned peacefully to his heavenly home on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.  A funeral service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, June 1st at 2:00 p.m. at First Church of the Nazarene in Sandersville, with burial in Washington County Memorial Gardens.  Reverend Gary Mimbs and Reverend Joe Crosby will officiate. Pallbearers will be Travis Barron, Dan Vowell, David Orce, Blake Sterling, James Tomlinson, Bill Frost, Jason Kilpatrick and Terrill Holsey. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 31, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at May and Smith Funeral Home

Greg was born in Dublin and raised in Washington County, graduating from Washington County High School, Class of 1996.  He began his working career at Lapp Insulator, later working for the Washington County Sheriff's Office, prior to Polly Pipe.  Greg currently worked for Trojan Battery as a supply room manager.  He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Sandersville.

Hunting and fishing were his hobbies, but more so his passion.  He was extremely talented at both. Oh, the stories he had and times he enjoyed doing what he loved.  You should see all of his trophies on the walls!

Greg was a kind, genuine, loving, faithful, selfless man that you could ever meet.  His love and devotion to his family and friends was unlike any other.  He battled cancer for six years, when he was initially only given a six-month prognosis.  He never complained and tried to hide most of his pain so others would not worry.

Survivors include, his wife Nickie S. Brantley of Sandersville; his son, Briar O. Brantley; stepson, Bryce J. Hood; mother, Helen C. Woods of Warthen; father, Larry L. Brantley and his wife Frances of Ludowici; his sister, Jennifer Wood of Warthen; niece, Evie Hood; mother-in-law, Karen J. Sellars; his sister-in-law, Kelly S. Hood and her husband Ryan all of Deepstep; a special Aunt, Annie Mae Taylor of Sandersville, and his fur babies, Paisley, Bella, Chrissie and Mia.

Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at P O Box 42040, Oklahoma City, OK  73123.
