Mr. Harley Allen Morris II, age 56, of Sandersville, died Saturday, August 25, 2018 at his residence. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 31 st at 2:00 p.m. in May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Reverend Danny Thomas will officiate. Pallbearers will be Tyler Gee, Ricky Coleman, Jeffery Yates, Robert Yates Jr., Craig Hindley, Horace Yates, George Wiggins and Joey Ellis. Honorary Pallbearer will be Robert "Randolph" Yates.
Mr. Morris was born in Miami FL., the son of the late William J. Morris and the late Lucille Yates Morris. Harley worked as a farm machinery mechanic. He worked for Meeks Tractor Company and formerly for Sandersville Rail Road. He loved farming and enjoyed cultivating hay on his family farm. Harley attended the Northridge Church in Milledgeville and often volunteered at Life Enrichment Center also in Milledgeville where he would play Santa Clause at Christmas. Along with his parents, Harley is predeceased by his son, William Eugene Morris.
Survivors include, his children, Christy M. Gray and her husband Jeremy of Hephzibah, and Roseanna M. Boulineau of Tennille; grandchildren, Dustin Gray, Savannah Gray, Madison Gray, Brandi Morris and Gabriella Rodriquez; sisters, Marie McNair of Rome, Barbara M. Coleman and her husband Joseph of Sparta and Gloria M. Gee of Milledgeville; and nieces and nephews, Jessica Hindley, Briana McNair, Tyler Gee, Alex Sura, Anna Byrne and Casey Gee.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
