Harriette Jackson Godfrey

Mrs. Harriette Jackson Godfrey, age 73, of Sandersville died Friday, November 2, 2012. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 5TH, at 2:00pm at the Antioch Christian Church in Oconee with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Alexis Haynes will officiate. Pallbearers will be A.J. Copeland, Paul Copeland, Bearl Elton, Rob Johnson, Tyler Chester, Jason Greenwood, William Archer and Pat Archer.

Mrs. Godfrey was born in Washington County the daughter of the late Raymond Lacey Jackson and the late Emma Wiggins Thrift. She worked as a caregiver in the nursing home and also private care in the home. She was a long time resident of Stone Mountain. She was a member of the Oconee Church of God and attended Antioch Christian Church. Mrs. Godfrey is predeceased by her husband Hardy Godfrey.

Survivors are: her children, Connie Johnson of Wrightsville, Mabel Stone of Rowonoke, AL, Lincoln Godfrey of Swainsboro, Sharon Mathis of Sandersville, and Amy Easley of Lithonia; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Ellen Green of Conyers, Linda Bowker of Little Rock AR, Connie Elton of Sandersville, Patricia Banks of Davisboro, Becky Munsteen of Davisboro and Tammy Arnold of Rincon and her brother, Alvin “Buddy”Thrift of Riddleville.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 4pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
