Mrs. Helen Robinson Brantley, age 80, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, formerly of Sandersville, died Tuesday morning, April 23, 2013 in Baton Rouge. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 27th, in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with burial in the Washington County Memorial Gardens. The Reverend L. T. Logue will officiate. Pallbearers will be Phillip T. Brantley, Tyler Dukes, Tommy Thompson, Harold Moats, Jimmy Smith and Robby Robinson.
Mrs. Brantley was a native of Washington County, the daughter of the late Levi Thomas Robinson and the late Nina Brown Robinson. She was the wife of the late Thomas Jerry Brantley. Mrs. Brantley was a program manager for the U.S. Department of Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service for over 35 years. She was a member of the Ridgeland Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors are: her children, Phil Brantley and his wife Paula of Baton Rouge, Byron Brantley and his wife Sally of Cincinnati, OH and Renee Brantley-Dukes of Summerville; eight grandchildren, Phillip T. Brantley and his wife Elizabeth, Taylor Brantley, Tyler Dukes, Emerald Dukes, Alyssa Dukes, Cameron Sawchuk and Olivia Sawchuk; a great-granddaughter, Alice Dahlia Brantley; sister Betty, wife of Marvin B. Hartley of Lyons; sisters-in-law, Helen Robinson of Sandersville and Elaine Robinson of Washington, Georgia; and an aunt, Irma Reading of East Point.
The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 12:30 P.M. on Saturday until the hour of service.
