Mrs. Helen Shurling Chapman, age 100, of Lawrenceville died Sunday morning September 28 in the Gwinnett Extended Care in Lawrenceville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday October 1 in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with burial in the Washington County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Chapman was a native of Tennille, the daughter of the late Jerry Jasper Shurling and the late Pencia Edith Brantley Shurling. She lived all of her life in Tennille prior to moving to Lawrenceville five years ago. Mrs. Chapman was the wife of the late William Ivey Chapman. She had been employed with the Royal Manufacturing Company and the Tennille Drug Store. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Chapman was a member of the Tennille United Methodist Church, the Piney Mount Homemakers Club and the Tennille Eager Agers.
Survivors are her children, Clifford Elmer Chapman of Bradenton, FL, Jerry William Chapman and his wife Wyvonne of Buford and Jacqueline Chapman Lindsey and her husband Dan of Phoenix, Arizona, seven grandchildren, Jerry Chapman, Angie Orem, Gary Lindsey, Jeff Lindsey, Todd Chapman and Camille Rondeaux, eight great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday. Donations made be made to Tennille Methodist Church, P.O. Box 265, Tennille, Georgia 31089.
