Mr. Henry C. Wilson, Jr. age 94, of Sandersville Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 19, 2026. A funeral service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday July 25th at 10:00 a.m. at Woodfin Funeral Chapel in Murfreesboro, TN, with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery, with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be Dakota Larimore, Caleb Ryan, Ethan Ryan and Eli Wilson.
Henry Clay Wilson Jr. was born and reared in Murfreesboro Tennessee, son of the late Henry C. Wilson Sr. and the late Ada Pittard Wilson. He graduated from Riverdale High School where he excelled in basketball. Mr. Wilson would later play basketball in college prior to joining the US Army and proudly serving his country oversees in Greece and Germany. He returned home to Murfreesboro, where he began a life of breeding cattle and farming. He created Wilson Stock Farm and managed a herd of registered Polled Hereford cattle for many years. Mr. Wilson took great pride in training and showing both cattle and horses. In his younger days, he and his father enjoyed harness racing at numerous racetracks throughout Tennessee. Mr. Wilson was also a talented auctioneer. In the 1980’s he was recruited to Washinton County to help manage CH Farms with the Sheppard family, another Polled Hereford cattle operation. Following work in the cattle business near Savannah, he returned to Washington County Georgia to be near family and where he enjoyed country life and hobby farming for the remainder of his life. Henry is predeceased by his parents; sisters, Libby Miller and Virginia Boyd; son, Chase Andrew Wilson and his daughter Lisa Wilson.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his daughter, Cameron W. Larimore and her husband Ron of Sandersville GA, Henry (Hank) C. Wilson, III and his wife Ya of Texas and Camille Ryan and her husband Don of Alabama; Grandchildren, Dakota Larimore, Caleb Ryan, Ethan Ryan and Eli Wilson and 6 Great-Grandchildren.
