Mr. Herman Gray Snider, age 95, of 2881 Hamburg State Park Road in Warthen died Saturday evening June 6 in the Washington County Regional Medical Center in Sandersville.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday June 9 in the Pine Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery near Warthen. The Rev. Burt Parker will officiate.
Mr. Snider was a native of Warren County, Georgia, the son of the late Bunyon Gray Snider and the late Adele Dawson Snider. He was the husband of the late Sallie Florence Burgamy Snider. Mr. Snider was the owner of Snider Construction Company. He had owned and operated a lumber company and sawmill, was a farmer, a dairyman, a cattleman and owner of Snider Ginning Company. He was a member of the Pine Hill United Methodist Church.
Survivors are a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Snider Barker and her husband John Barker of Molena, two sons, Edward Gray Snider and his wife Anita Snider of Jacksonville, Texas, and Herman Grayson Snider of Martinez, a sister, Betty Snider Pulliam of Mitchell and a brother, Marion L. Snider of Sandersville, six grandchildren, John Barker III, Sallie Kathryn Barker, Christina Snider, William Snider, Victoria Snider, and Brittany Malone, two great grandchildren, Alexis Jordan Barker and Sidney Grace Barker.
The family suggests that donations may be made to the Pine Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Betty Everett, 2664 Highway 102, and Warthen, Georgia 31094.
The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Monday evening.
