Each holiday season often brings great joy to our lives. It is a time of family gatherings and religious celebrations. However, for those who have experienced loss, this can be a time of heightened sorrow. This invasion of death in our lives has always been our most difficult times. We have all suffered earthly separation on some level and for many these times seem to be more than they can bear.
We at May and Smith Funeral Directors work each day to walk with those who have suffered loss. It is during this time we feel that something more is needed in our community to help us cope. On Tuesday, December 10th at 6:00 p.m. we will host “Hope for the Holidays”, a service of remembrance of those we have lost. Please join us at the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel and hear a message of hope from Reverend Brice Jeffcoat of Bethlehem Baptist Church and songs of inspiration from Debra Shepherd.
During the service we will have a special time of remembrance, when the names of loved ones lost during the last year will be read aloud, and a bell will chime in their memory. During this time, you will be given the opportunity to honor your loved one as you stand while their name is read. We hope that this will be a special time that will give you peace and comfort in your time of grief. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our office.
Sincerely,
Jeffery T. Smith, E.K. May, Weston Williford and staff
