Hubert Gary Burgamy, Sr.

Mr. Hubert Gary Burgamy Sr., age 76, of Tennille, died Thursday, January 21, 2021.  A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 23rd at 3:00 p.m. in Zeta Cemetery in Tennille with Reverend Danny Thomas officiating.  The family will receive friends following the graveside service in the Cemetery.

Mr. Burgamy was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late Jesse Eddie Burgamy and the late Marion Chalker Burgamy.  Following graduation from Washington County High School, Gary proudly served his country in the US Army, serving in the infantry and 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam.  He began his working career in the Kaolin industry prior to spending most of his career with Lapp Insulator from which he retired.  Gary loved fishing, NASCAR, working in his yard and all of his pets.  He was a faithful caregiver to his mother prior to her death and cherished his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Turner Burgamy of Tennille; children, Gary Burgamy Jr. and his wife Sandy of Dublin, Lisa B. McCurdy and her husband Scott of Wyoming, Lynn B. Wright and her husband Cliff of Sandersville, and Dawn B. Yalvac and her husband Yucel of North Carolina; step-sons, Ryan E. Barron and his wife Amanda of Grovetown and Brian J. Barron and his wife Sarah of Michigan;  grandchildren, Stefan McCurdy, Jacob Burgamy, C.H. Wright, Lauren Yalvac, Cheyenne Burgamy, Holly Wright and Brandon Yalvac; and his sister Sandra B. Williamson of Davisboro.
