Mr. Hurley Gordon Ridgeway, age 81, of 522 North Main Street in Davisboro died Friday April 6 at his residence.
A time of visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Monday April 9 at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Mon day April 9 in the May and smith Funeral Home Chapel. Father Carlton Shuford will officiate.
Mr. Ridgeway was a native of Kankakee, Illinois, the son of the late Harry Gordon Ridgeway and the late Irene Baum Clopper Ridgeway. He was a professional tennis player. He also was a carpenter, cattleman and Jack of all trades. Mr. Ridgeway was of the Methodist faith. He was a member and past president of the Sandersville Lions Club, a member and past president of the Tennille Farm Bureau and a member and past president of the Washington County Cattleman’s Association. Mr. Ridgeway was currently serving as the Mayor of the City of Davisboro.
Survivors are his wife, Donna R. Ridgeway of Davisboro, a daughter, Laura R. McNeely and her husband Randy of Davisboro, a granddaughter, Hurley Marie McNeely of Davisboro.
The family suggest donations be made to the Brentwood School, P. O. Box 955, Sandersville, Georgia 31082.
