Mr. Jack L. Waller, age 78, of San Marcos, California died on Friday, May, 29, 2015 in the Summer Hill Rest Home in San Marcus, California following an extended illness.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 09, 2015, in the Miramar National Cemetery (Rosecrans Auxiliary) in San Diego, California with Military Honors.
Mr. Waller was a native of Sandersville, Washington County, Georgia. He was the son of the late Willie L. Waller, Sr. and the late Inez Adams Waller. He was a graduate of Sandersville High School, Class of 1955. Mr. Waller was a Navy veteran serving 12 years, during which his ship was deployed on two occasions to the coast of South Vietnam to provide support to United States Ground Forces during the Vietnam War.
After leaving the Navy Mr. Waller was employed as a welder on the NASSCO Shipyard in San Diego, California. He spent his career as a welder and taught welding for approximately 25 years before retiring in 1992.
Mr. Waller was preceded in death by two brothers, James “Jimmy” T. Waller and Billy Waller, and one sister, Betty Waller Adams.
Survivors are his son, Roger Waller and his wife Traci of Vista, California; his daughter, Jackie Waller Colonna of Carlsbad, California; his brother, Louie Waller and his wife Yvonne of Riddleville, Georgia; and his sister, Bobbie Jean Waller Gilstrap and her husband Don of Liberty, South Carolina; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
