Mr. Jack Albert Register Sr., age 73, of Davisboro, passed away Monday, September 26 th in an Augusta Hospital. A graveside funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, September 29 th at 11:00 a.m. in the Davisboro Cemetery. Reverend Richard Staveley will officiate. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
Jack was a Washington County native, the son of the late Walter Dykes Register and the late Frances Strickland Register. He enlisted in the US Army and served his country as a helicopter mechanic during two tours in Viet Nam. Following the service, Jack began a lifelong career as an auto mechanic while living in West Virginia, Wyoming, Washington, and North Carolina prior to retiring home to Washington County. In addition to his parents, Jack is predeceased by his wife, Virginia Riley Register, and brothers, Joe Register, Jimmy Register and David Register.
Survivors include his children, James Thomas Register of Texas, Jack Albert Register Jr., of Arizona, Melinda Register and Wendy Register of Washington; and siblings, Tommy Register of Oregon, Ken Register and his wife Barbara of South Carolina, Tim Register and his wife Barbara of Mississippi, Walter Register Jr. of Alabama, Nancy Tingle of Tennille, and Chris Register and his wife Christina of North Carolina.
