Jackie Evans

Mrs. Jackie Evans, age 77 of Wrightsville, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Wrightsville Manor following an extended illness. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown Memorial Baptist Church in Wrightsville with burial in Piney Mount Church Cemetery in Johnson County. Reverend Randy Adams will officiate. Pallbearers will be Kevin Helton, Tommy Helton, Joey Brown, Allen Tanner, Brad Walker, and Tommy Frady. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the church.

Mrs. Evans was the daughter of the late Harvey Lee Pournell and the late Martha Downs Pournell. She was a very loving person, who enjoyed her television programs, especially Hallmark movies and ghost adventure shows. Mrs. Evans liked to spend time baking and cooking for her children and grandchildren whom she loved very much. In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her husbands, Freddie Smith and Ben Evans; son, Kenny Smith; grandson, Gage Thigpen; and siblings, Randall Pournell and Tammy Pournell.

Mrs. Evans is survived by her children, Chris Smith and Lisa Smith Thigpen (Wayne) both of Wrightsville; grandchildren, Delacy Jackson, Matt Smith, Breanna Wilkerson (Alex), Jacob Smith, Dawson Smith, Hannah Thigpen, Brayden Smith, and Ivey Smith; great grandchildren, Brennan Jackson, Aaron Smith, and Alanna Thigpen; and siblings, Jean Sweat (Ray) of Meridian, MS, and Kay Phillips (Ron) of Sandersville.

The family will be at the home of Chris Smith in Wrightsville.
