Airman First Class, Jackson James Knight, age 19, of Washington County, passed away Friday, June, 10, 2022. A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, June 14
th
at 11:00 a.m. in Zeta Cemetery in Tennille, GA. with military honors. The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Jack was born January 21, 2003 in Sandersville. He was a lifelong resident of Washington County. He graduated from Washington County High School in 2021 where he excelled in wrestling, track, and cross country. During high school, Jack worked with his dad in his masonry business and also with Kyle Watkins in lawn care service. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. During his senior year of high school, Jack joined the delayed entry program for the US Air Force. He entered the Air Force on August 10, 2021 at Lackland AFB in San Antonio TX. He graduated on September 30, 2021 with unit TRS 321 / FLT 372 Wart Hogs. Following graduation, Jack was trained in air craft fuel and maintenance at Sheppard AFB Tech School. He reported to his first duty station in December, 2021 to Air Combat Command JSTARS at Robins AFB as a member of the 461st Maintenance Squadron where he served at the time of his death. Jack was known to never meet a stranger. He was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his parents, James and Shelly Knight of Harrison; siblings, Lee Marshall, Jessica Wildes and her husband Josh, William Knight, C.J. Knight, Zeke Knight, and Joseph Knight; his grandparents, Mickey and Edward Blankenship of Harrison and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
