James Robert "Bobby" Jones

Mr. James Robert "Bobby" Jones, Sr., age 82, of 386 South Riddle Road in Riddleville died Monday evening, February 9, 2015 in an Augusta hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 13th, in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville. Reverend M. D. Cabe and Reverend Daniel Porter will officiate with burial in the Riddleville Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Jackson, Jr., Paul Jackson, David Tucker, Andy Rasch, Keith Jones, Winston Jones and Bob Jones.

Mr. Jones was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late Willie D. Jones, Sr. and the late Lucile Coefield Jones. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mabry Griggs and Doris Barlow; and a brother, Willie D. Jones, Jr.
He worked in the maintenance department for over 25 years for the Washington County Regional Medical Center and was the former owner and operator of Jones Chevron Service Station in Riddleville. Mr. Jones was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member and Deacon of the Riddleville Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Ann Jackson Jones of Riddleville; a daughter, Cheryl Lynn Jones of Riddleville; two sons, James Robert "Bob" Jones of Riddleville and Keith Michael Jones of Ridgeway, SC; two grandchildren, Molly Ann Jones and Winston James Jones; four sisters, Carol Jackson of Riddleville, Virginia Hutcheson of Meeks, Frances Tucker of Albemarle, NC and Velma Veal of Wrightsville.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 1:00 P.M. on Friday until the hour of service.
