Mr. James Wallace Hinslea, age 71, of Tennille, died Wednesday, February 03, 2016, at the Veterans Hospital in Dublin following an extended illness. A memorial service celebrating Jim’s life will be held on Friday, February 5th at 5:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville. His family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until the hour of service and also following the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Hinslea was born in Lorain, Ohio the son of the late Charles Hunt Hinslea Sr. and the late Marjorie Rice Hinslea. He was a long time resident of Vermillion and Avon, Ohio and he worked as an auto mechanic. Jim loved karaoke and he was an avid bowler. Mr. Hinslea served his country in the U.S. Army.
Survivors are: his daughters, Amy H. Racine of Vermillion OH, and Jennifer Hinslea and her husband Billy Rak of Lakewood OH; his brother, Charles H. Hinslea and his wife Karen of Anthem AZ; his sister, Judy M. Morse of Harrison; his longtime partner Roberta Schau of Tennille; step children, Kevin Schau of Tennille, and Nicole Strick and her husband Alex of Vermillion, OH; eight grandchildren; and a special nephew Timothy Morse of Pittsburgh, PA.
