James Herman Jackson, Jr

Mr. James Herman Jackson, Jr., age 81, of Brandon, Florida passed away on Tuesday July 12, 2022, at Heritage Inn in Sandersville, where he had been a resident since December 2021, after his wife’s death. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday July 15, in New Bethel Cemetery near Riddleville.  Reverend M. D. Cabe will officiate.

Mr. Jackson was a native of Washington County, Georgia , the son of the late James Herman Jackson, Sr. and the late Grace Bedingfield Jackson. He was a United States Air Force Veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict.  While serving in the Air force, at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida, he met and married the love of his life, Donna Jean Thomas Jackson and now they are reunited for eternity. After having lived in the Tampa area for over 60 years, he was a legendary retired electronics technician with General Telephone (GTE) and Verizon.  He was a member of the Temple Terrace Masonic Lodge #330.

Survivors are his son, James Allen Jackson of Brandon, Florida; his brothers, H. Ronald Jackson (Betty), R. Wayne Jackson (Sandra), Henry P. Jackson (Joy), all of Riddleville and Bruce Jackson (Edie) of Sandersville, Georgia; brother-in-law, Mike Thomas (Linda) of Pensacola, Florida; sisters-in-law, Sharon Bowman (Jerry) of Pell City, Alabama, Barbara Thomas of Brandon, Florida; niece, Tammy Thomas-Katrein (Keith) of Brandon, Florida; nephew, Evan Thomas of Brandon, Florida, Bennie Thomas of North Carolina and several other nieces, nephews, cousins and many devoted friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 15, 2022, after the graveside service at 2:00 p.m., New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1829 New Bethel Road, Bartow, Georgia 30413.
