James Robert Kent

Sandersville

Mr. James Robert Kent, age 72, of Sandersville died Friday September 11, 2015 at his residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, September 14, in the Temple of Praise Church in Sandersville. The Rev. Wallace Smith and Rev. Robbie Kent will officiate with burial in the Washington County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be David Everett, Mark Kent, Clay Kent, Al Rasch, Dell Smith and Eric Dale Smith.

Mr. Kent was a native of Glascock County, Georgia, the son of the late Johnny Clarence Kent and the late Lillie Mae Black Kent. He was preceded in death by a son, Cleston Kent and a grandson, Cleston Tyler Kent. He was a professional carpet installer. Mr. Kent was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Viet Nam Conflict and a member of the American Legion. He attended the Temple of Praise Church.

Survivors are: his wife, Judy Gail Chandler Kent of Sandersville; two daughters, Christy Kent Caldwell and her husband Rodney of Sandersville, Amey Kent Frazier and her husband Ron of Sandersville; a son Robbie Kent of Sandersville; a step daughter, Tammy Seitter and her husband Charlie of New Braunfels, Texas; a daughter in law, Leanne B. Kent of Sandersville; fifteen grandchildren: Lindsey Smith, Kristalei Brown, Audrey Caldwell, Jacob Caldwell, Chandler Frazier, Connor Frazier, Corrie Frazier, Jamie Brindell, Austin Kent, Preston Kent, Jeremy Kent, Petra Kent, Sierra Hammerschmidt, Chris Hammerschmidt and Charlie Seitter; four great grandchildren, Raylei Brown, Cohen Rulerson, Jade Smith and Harper Brindell; three sisters, Ruth Kent Smith and her husband Danny of Wrightsville, Ann Kent Dye and her husband Roger of Forsyth, Gail Kent Jackson and her husband Ricky of Riddleville; two brothers, Bobby Kent and his wife Harriett of Sparta, and William Kent and his wife Pauline of Jasper.

The family may be contacted at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Frazier, 607 West Church Street in Sandersville.
